The London Marathon and Cycle Chartres
The London marathon…
Lewis Brownlee wishes to congratulations Nick who completed the London Marathon in 3 hours 36 minutes yesterday, a time which he was very pleased with – and rightly so! The amount he has raised for the local charity Give 4 B.E.T.H currently stands at £2,349 so far. Here he is pictured with his sister Mel who is a Manager here at Lewis Brownlee.
So bring on the next challenge…..
Ian Barnett, Phil Reed and Alex Welsh from our financial services team along with Michael Merritt our tax Director will be getting lycra’d up this weekend to take part in this year’s Cycle (to) Chartres to help raise money for charity.
A 3 day trip, setting off from Chichester on Friday 1st and arriving at Chartres (Chichester’s French twin) on Sunday 3rd. The journey will comprise:
- A short 20 mile warm-up to Portsmouth on Friday
- A ferry from Portsmouth to Caen
- Another 90 miles on the Saturday from Caen to Evreux
- A final 50 miles on the Sunday from Evreux to Chartres
- Coach home – they won’t quite have the energy to cycle back – maybe next year!!
The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Chichester Harbour and the charity they have chosen to support this year is Mind – Coastal West Sussex. Mind are a mental health charity who provide support to local people with a multitude of needs. There’s loads of information on what they do and why on their site – http://www.coastalwestsussexmind.org/
We’d be very grateful if anyone could help us to support this year’s charity by making a donation. Ian has set a page up in his name, but any donations to the team would be gratefully received https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/ianbarnett3
